SUMMARY:Site Visit: A Naturalized Fish Passage and Re-naturalized Riverbanks at Fundy National Park
DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about nature-based solutions and natural infrastructure strategies for effectively addressing climate change? If so\, we invite you to join us this summer for an exciting and educational journey. You’ll have the opportunity to explore four unique sites where these innovative approaches are being implemented. During this experience\, you will not only expand your knowledge but also gain a deeper understanding of how these strategies can be applied in various contexts to create a more sustainable future. Don’t miss out on the chance to learn from experts in the field and connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for protecting the environment! \nThis series is organized by the NBEN\, the Government of New Brunswick\, Nature NB\, the Town of Riverview\, and Mill Creek Nature Park. The site visits are free and bilingual. \nPlease note that\, during the event\, the NBEN (and/or its partners) will be taking photos and videos for its print and online communications\, including social media and television. If you do not wish to have your image included in photos or videos\, please let us know. \nVisit Two: A Naturalized Fish Passage and Re-naturalized Riverbanks at Fundy National Park \nCome visit Fundy National Park’s naturalized fish passage at Bennett Lake and see what ~10 years of growth looks like at the re-naturalized riverbanks of Dixon Brook. \nWhen: Monday\, July 13th\, 2026 (10am–1pm) \nGuide: Shirley Butland\, Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist \nEvent Location: 8642 Route 114\, Alma\, NB\, E4H 4V2 \nLogistics: Free event. Parking available. Bring a lunch or snack as this visit may take up to three hours. This event will take place rain or shine without alternate dates. We will only cancel in the event of severe or dangerous conditions.
